Types of Entrepreneurship



Entrepreneurship can be classified on the basis of following kinds ;




One Definition Does Not Fit All: The Four Types of Entrepreneurship


(1) Private entrepreneurship : 

When a person or a group of a person begin their business in a private sector. Developed countries like America, England and Germany show fast economic development because of private entrepreneurship.

(2) Governments or Public Entrepreneurship : 

When government begins a business enterprise in a public or government sector. Socialistic countries like Russia and China have this kind of entrepreneurship. 

(3) Joint Entrepreneurship : 

This is a mixed entrepreneurship of private and public entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs begins their business in a private sector where govt plays a significant role. 

(4) Co-operative Entrepreneurship : 

When number of persons begin an enterprise on a co-operation with one another. For example sugar mills, dairy industries, agricultural industries and small scale industries.

(5) Traditional Entrepreneurship : 

In an enterprise, if the traditional methods are used, less expenditure are seen. For example - Most of Indian entrepreneurship. 

(6) Modern Entrepreneurship :

 when an entrepreneur follows the new techniques, begins riskful planning  and speed of enterprise is very fast. Example- Modern educated young entrepreneurs.

(7) Centralised Entrepreneurship : 

 Centralisation entrepreneurship means Concentrations of decision making power at the top level of management. Under centralisation, all important decisions are taken by the top executives and operative decision and action at lower levels in the organisation are subject to the close supervision of the executives.

(8) Decentralised Entrepreneurship : 

It refer to systematic delegation of authority at all levels of management and in all departments of the organisation for taking the decision and action appropriate at the respective levels. In the Decentralised organisation, authority is retained at the top management level for making major decisions and framing policies concerning the entire organisation.

(9) Large scale entrepreneurship : 

In an enterprise, when a Large amount of finance is invested, many employees work in this enterprise. For example -  Tata,Birala,Ambani, Bajaj come under large scale entrepreneurship.

(10) Small scale entrepreneurship : 

A business unit which has small size, Small finance is invested and few labours work in this unit. 

(11) Individual Leadership : 

A business unit where one individual is responsible. Management, decision making and leadership.

(12) Group Leadership : 

 This is dependent on technostructure of entrepreneurship society. A lot of people are involved in management, decision making and leadership.
