  The entrepreneur is a  person who perceive an idea and then bring together man power, material and arranges necessary capital needed for businesses. Entrepreneurship is a creative and innovative response to the environment.

             

  Characteristics of the Entrepreneur

(1) Good Organizer :

It is the ability to the entrepreneur that brings together all resources for starting up an enterprise and then to produce goods.

(2) Foresight : 

The entrepreneur have a good foresight to know about future business environment.                

(3) Independence : 

One of the common characteristics of the successful entrepreneur has been that they do not like to be guided by others and to follow their routine.

(4) Highly optimistic : 

The successful entrepreneur are not disturbed by the present problems faced by them. They are optimistic for future that the situations will become favorable to business in future.

(5) Desire for high Achievement :

The entrepreneur have strong desire to achieve high goals in business. This high achievement motive strengthen them to surmount the obstacles.

(6) Hard work : 

Willingness to work hard distinguishes a successful entrepreneur from unsuccessful one. The entrepreneur with his tedious, sweat-filled hours and perseverance revive their business even from one verge of failure.

(7) Technical knowledge : 

An entrepreneur must have a reasonable level of technical knowledge.

(8) Communication Ability : 

Communication ability is the ability to communicate effectively. Good communication also means that both the sender and the receiver understand each other and are being understood. 

(9) Human Relation Ability : 

An entrepreneur must maintain good relation with his costumers. He must also maintain good relations  with his employees as he is to motive them to perform their jobs at a high level of efficiency.

(10) Business Secrecy : 

An entrepreneur must be able to guard business secrets. Leakage of business secrets to trade competition is a serious matter which should be carefully guarded against by an entrepreneur.

(11) Clear Objectives : 

An entrepreneur should have a clear objective, the nature of the goods to be produced and subsidiary activities to be undertaken 

(12) Mental Ability : 

Mental ability refers to intelligence and creative thinking. An entrepreneur must be reasonably intelligent and should have creative thinking and must be able to engage in the analysis of various problems.
